What we’ve been up to this month…
We have been looking at all things weather and seasons. We have been exploring types of weather and how this affects our seasons from sun, rain, snow and wind. We have been looking at blossom, flowers and trees. We have even looked at how it affects our clothing and different activities that we can explore in the seasons.
We have celebrated World Wildlife Day, Pancake Day, World Book Day, St Patrick’s Day, Oral Health Day, Mother’s Day and even National Performing Arts Day!
What’s happening next month…
April we will be looking at gardening and new life.
We will be exploring all things easter, spring and looking at new plants growing, life cycles and new life. We will be celebrating national gardening week, world art day, Easter Sunday, national earth day and St Georges day!
Planned activities include:
- Making ladybirds or honey bees
- Making bunny faces
- Hatching chick crafts
- Planting flowers and seeds
- Farm animals muddy animal wash
- Digging for worms sensory tray
- Handprint and footprint butterflies
- Potato printing Easter Eggs
- Making giant sunflower crafts
- Using pipettes and cotton wool to create the earth
April’s Preschool focus:
We will be focusing on life cycles such as frogs, bees, lambs and plants. Throughout this month we will be looking at simple symmetry such as butterfly wings, shadows and leaves.
Some ideas to do at home:
- Going on nature walks
- Looking to see a variety of fruits and vegetables growing
- Looking out for seedlings
- Talking about the celebrations of Easter
- Exploring different textures and tastes over the easter period
- Leaf rubbing with crayons
- Celebrating National Gardening Week
